*The Gloria Patri

*2nd Sunday Confession of Faith
(Adapted from The Ligonier Statement on Christology) We believe in and confess the mystery and wonder of God made flesh and rejoice in our great salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord.
With the Father and the Holy Spirit, the Son created all things, sustains all things, and makes all things new.
Truly God, He became truly man, two natures in one person.
He was born of the Virgin Mary and lived among us. Crucified, dead, and buried, He rose on the third day, ascended to heaven, and will come again in glory and judgment.
For us, He kept the Law, atoned for sin, and satisfied God’s wrath.
He is our Prophet, Priest, and King, building His church, interceding for us, and reigning over all things. Jesus Christ is Lord; we praise His holy Name forever. Amen.
Psalter Reading (Psalm 46) Page 802
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Come and see the works of the LORD, the desolations he has brought on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields with fire.
“Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Musical Offering “Behold, the Tabernacle of God” Wm. Harris (St Stephen Choir)
Pastoral Prayer and Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Sermon “Fishers of Men” Dr. Drew DiNardo
*Closing Hymn 707 “Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken”
1 Jesus, I my cross have taken,
all to leave, and follow thee;
destitute, despised, forsaken,
thou from hence my all shalt be.
Perish ev'ry fond ambition,
all I've sought or hoped or known; yet how rich is my condition,
God and heav'n are still my own.
2 Let the world despise and leave me, they have left my Savior too;
human hearts and looks deceive me; thou art not, like man, untrue;
and, while thou shalt smile upon me, God of wisdom, love, and might, foes may hate and friends may shun me; show thy face, and all is bright.
3 Man may trouble and distress me, 'twill but drive me to thy breast; life with trials hard may press me, heav'n will bring me sweeter rest. O 'tis not in grief to harm me
while thy love is left to me;
O 'twere not in joy to charm me, were that joy unmixed with thee.
4 Take, my soul, thy full salvation, rise o'er sin and fear and care;
joy to find in ev'ry station
something still to do or bear;
think what Spirit dwells within thee, what a Father's smile is thine,
what a Savior died to win thee: child of heav'n, shouldst thou repine?
5 Hasten on from grace to glory, armed by faith, and winged by prayer; heav'n's eternal day's before thee, God's own hand shall guide thee there.
Soon shall close thy earthly mission,
swift shall pass thy pilgrim days;
hope shall change to glad fruition,
faith to sight, and prayer to praise.
*Benediction
*Congregation Three-fold Amen
