Prelude  “Love Divine” C. Callahan

Welcome and Announcements Dr. Drew DiNardo
Preparation to Enter God’s Presence
*Call to Worship
*Invocation
*Hymn of Praise #94 “How Firm a Foundation”
1 How firm a foundation, you saints of the Lord,
is laid for your faith in his excellent Word!
What more can he say than to you he has said,
to you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?
2 "Fear not, I am with you, O be not dismayed;
for I am your God, and will still give you aid;
I'll strengthen you, help you, and cause you to stand,
upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.
3 "When through the deep waters I call you to go,
the rivers of sorrow shall not overflow;
for I will be with you, your troubles to bless,
and sanctify to you your deepest distress.
4 "When through fiery trials your pathway shall lie,
my grace, all-sufficient, shall be your supply;
the flame shall not hurt you; I only design
your dross to consume and your gold to refine.

5 "E'en down to old age all my people shall prove
my sovereign, eternal, unchangeable love;
and when hoary hairs shall their temples adorn,
like lambs they shall still in my bosom be borne.
6 "The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not desert to his foes;
that soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I'll never, no never, no never forsake."

Communion Sunday Confession of Faith (Apostle’s Creed)
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was
conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried, he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the
body, and the life everlasting. Amen

(St Stephen Bells)

Intercessory Prayer & Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we
forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us
from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Offertory “Nearer, My God, to Thee” arr. G. Lanier (Jocelyn Crosby, flute)

*The Doxology
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Sermon Text Proverbs 30:24-28 Page 551
Sermon Title “Lessons from the Little Things” Dr. Drew DiNardo
*Hymn of Response #128 “God Moves in a Mysterious Way”
1 God moves in a mysterious way
his wonders to perform;
he plants his footsteps in the sea,
and rides upon the storm.
2 Deep in unfathomable mines
of never-failing skill
he treasures up his bright designs,
and works his sovereign will.
3 Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
the clouds ye so much dread
are big with mercy, and shall break
in blessings on your head.
4 Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
but trust him for his grace;
behind a frowning providence
he hides a smiling face.

5 His purposes will ripen fast,
unfolding ev'ry hour;
the bud may have a bitter taste,
but sweet will be the flow'r.

6 Blind unbelief is sure to err,
and scan his work in vain;
God is his own interpreter,
and he will make it plain.

A Reading from God’s Law with a Response from the Epistles
You shall have no other gods before me.
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! (Romans 11:36)
You shall not make for yourself an idol.
In Christ we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. (Colossians 1:14–15)
You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
Let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-- the fruit of lips that confess his name. (Hebrews 13:15)
Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and
admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. (Colossians 3:16)

Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. (Colossians 3:20)
You shall not murder.
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32)
You shall not commit adultery.
You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body. (1 Corinthians 6:20)
You shall not steal.
He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his hands, so that he may have something to share with those in need. (Ephesians 4:28)
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. (Ephesians 4:15)
You shall not covet your neighbor's house or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. (Philippians 4:11)

Confession Of Sin And Supplication For Grace
Almighty God, we are unworthy to come into your presence, because of our many sins. We do not deserve any grace or mercy from you, if you dealt with us as we deserve. We have sinned against you, O Lord, and we have offended you. We have broken your law. And yet, O Lord, as we acknowledge our sins and offenses, so also do we acknowledge you to be a merciful God, a loving and favorable Father, to all who turn to you. And so, we
humbly ask you, for the sake of Christ your son, to show mercy to us, and forgive us all our offenses. Forgive the sins of our youth, and the sins of our old age. By your Spirit, O God, take possession of our hearts, so that, not only the actions of our life, but also the words of our mouths, and the smallest thought of our minds, may
be guided and governed by you. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be all honor and glory, now and forever. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
*Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

*Hymn of Communion Praise Book #12 “He Was Pierced . . .”
He was pierced for our transgressions;
He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on Him,
and by His wounds we are healed.
We all like sheep have gone a-stray,
each of us has turned to his own way
and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

The Lord’s Supper (All Bread is Gluten Free)

*Closing Hymn #347 “The Church’s One Foundation”
1 The church's one foundation is Jesus Christ, her Lord;
she is his new creation by water and the Word:
from heav'n he came and sought her to be his holy bride;
with his own blood he bought her, and for her life he died.
2 Elect from ev'ry nation, yet one o'er all the earth,
her charter of salvation one Lord, one faith, one birth;
one holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food,
and to one hope she presses, with ev'ry grace endued.
3 Though with a scornful wonder men see her sore oppressed,
by schisms rent asunder, by heresies distressed,
yet saints their watch are keeping, their cry goes up, "How long?"
And soon the night of weeping shall be the morn of song.
4 The church shall never perish! Her dear Lord to defend,
to guide, sustain, and cherish, is with her to the end;
though there be those that hate her, and false sons in her pale,
against or foe or traitor she ever shall prevail.
5 'Mid toil and tribulation, and tumult of her war,
she waits the consummation of peace forevermore;
till with the vision glorious her longing eyes are blest,
and the great church victorious shall be the church at rest.
6 Yet she on earth hath union with God the Three in One,
and mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won:
O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we,
like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with thee.

*Benediction
*Congregation Three-fold Amen
